Leonidas (Leo for short) is a large and lovable male cat who showed up in my back yard last summer (2007).  He was not neutered at the time and had clearly been fighting (tip of his right ear is missing).  I have had him cleaned up, neutered, full shots, and tested for feline diseases.  At that time, the vet informed me that Leo tested positive for FIV.  Therefore, he needs a home in which he is kept indoors and away from other male felines.  FIV is not transmittable to humans but is commonly spread to other cats through male fighting behavior (bite wounds).  Leo loves attention and his personality is more doglike than catlike – he loves people and female cats.  He is very affectionate and loves to cuddle and be petted.  He may also do well in a home with a dog.  I would recommend keeping him away from small children due to his massive size – he often does not realize his own strength and can accidentally scratch while playing.  Leo is a wonderful cat who desperately needs a loving home away from other males.  I would love to keep him except that I have 6 other cats already, including another FIV-positive male who Leo fights with (Morris).  I have been turned down by numerous rescue organizations due to Leo’s FIV-positive status.  Please contact Kelly trinityk73@hotmail.com at  or call 205-325-7221
