We found her on the side of a highway near our home about June 28th. She was extremely malnourished
and very bony. She had enormously swollen tits, which indicated she had puppies somewhere. We searched
for hours in the area we found her, and we asked nearby people if they had seen her or puppies. No one had
ever seen her and we did not find puppies. We brought her home and gave her a bath, pulled ticks off of
her and put on some frontline.
She is friendly, not food aggressive, not aggressive toward the cats, and not aggressive toward our other female dog who is a 25lb terrier mix.
She is terrified of being on the leash, I assume she has been beaten before while on a leash. Once I get the leash on her, she walks well. She has no manners, so she will need to be taken in by someone who will have the time and patience to teach her. She enjoys chewing on everything, so we make sure she has the appropriate chew
toys and NOT our shoes or other objects. She doesn't care to come into the house, she prefers to stay outside. She is a very picky eater, which is surprising considering how scrawny she is. She is larger than a medium
dog but not quite large, however I suspect when she gains adequate weight she will easily exceed 100 lbs. She cowers from you if you try to pet her on the head or face. I will keep her and work with her, try
to teach her manners and commands while we wait for her forever home.
